Preface
The use of photo and video equipment is absolutely invaluable in cases of power abuse, such as police, military and so on. The pictures, or even moreso, videos constitute an undeniable proof of abuse. For example: [1]
Problems with existing designs
Unfortunately, the fact that the storage medium (photo film, magnetic tape, flash card) resides inside the camera's housing severely limits the usage of photo/video equipment for aforementioned purpose. For example, the police may specifically target the cameramen, apprehend them and take possession of the recording equipment, destroying the respective storage medium with the incriminating evidence.
Claims
- A photo or video camera containing two or more independent modules, such that one of such modules contains the image acquisition device and another such module contains the image storage device and the storage media.
- A photo or video camera as per claim 1, with the image acquisition module and storage module operating independently
- A photo or video camera as per claim 2, with the image acquisition module and storage module linked wirelessly so the acquired image is wirelessly transmitted to the data storage module and saved to the storage medium
- A photo or video camera as per claim 3 utilizing analog technology
- A photo or video camera as per claim 3 utilizing digital technology
In layman's terms
If people are recording the police abuse, they risk being arrested and stripped off of the recordings. Proposed is the camera that does not contain the storage device onboard; instead, it wirelessly connects to a storage device that may be hidden nearby or is discreetly held by a different person who would quietly slip away and save the recording in case the cameraman is arrested.
