PDI:Contribute
From PDI
To contribute an idea to the public domain, follow these steps:
- First, do a search using the search box to the left to make sure a similar idea doesn't already exist. If it does, it's better to expand on the existing idea than to create a new one. If it doesn't exist, continue. (You might also want to check Google Patent Search or the USPTO patent database to see if your idea has already been patented.)
- Pick a category for your idea, and click on it. Categories are listed on the main page. If you don't find a category that fits, send us an email and we'll add it right away.
- On the top right of the category page, look for the text box that says "Add an idea to this category." Enter the title of your idea, then click add.
- On the resulting page, describe your idea in as much or as little detail as you want. Others can fill in the details later.
- Add additional categories if appropriate. Be sure to follow the proper wiki syntax, and only use categories that are already listed on the main page. (For more information on how to use a wiki, see the help section).
Thanks for contributing to the public domain!
